Our dermatologist recommended this sun screen as the best protection and it works very well. It seems to be great protection we have never had a sun burn. There is a big downside though: it is very difficult to apply and we always struggle with our toddler when we put it on him. It takes a long time until the white film is smeared in and we always have white marks on clothes the stroller bags etc... It also leaves a shiny film on the face (and causes greasy hair around the face) so I would not recommend it for adults who mind this...

Use Vanicream products everyday. You have to let the sunscrean sink in becasue after application you look like a clown. But great stuff!

The best for kids when they're playing in the water!Talk about sun protection! I had my three year old and my 1.5 year old twins at the swimming pool this summer applied this 30 minutes before exposure had them out there for three hours in 80+ degree heat swimming and NO SUNBURNS. You don't need to apply it so liberally the skin stays white just put enough on to cover -- a little bit goes a VERY long way. (If your skin stays white and you can't rub it in you've applied way too much.) You'll see some white on the skin again when they get wet but it goes away. Any that is left on my hands after applying to the kids I put on my own face. Very water resistant and has super protection. Wonderful stuff it's safe smells good and I never have any trouble washing it off. Again... a little bit goes a long way. It's the best out there!

best all around value
This is the second year I've used this sunscreen since it was rated in the top ten in EWG testing last year. I see it's down to #20 this year (out of 469 tested!) but the competition has really heated up for nontoxic effective sunscreens. I burn easily and have never gotten a burn while using it and on occasion that has meant going out in direct summer sun all day long.
I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because it does take a bit of effort to apply. I find it's important to squeeze out just enough to coat. If I get it on too thickly it can be tricky to spread or remove some so there's not a thick white coating. That being said it's not really not that difficult.
Considering that the price is about half of the comparable highly rated sunscreens it's a great value and it's the only sunscreen I use.

Absolutely the BEST!I've never been a fan of sunscreens with multiple strange chemicals that make me feel so nasty I'd rather be burned. Luckily I found Loving Naturals which not only works brilliantly but feels better on my skin than a massage from a supermodel...ha! The customer service from Loving Naturals is spectacular the product amazing and I feel great knowing my family is using the best.

Strengths and weaknessesI was looking for a safe effective sunsreen for my trip to Southeast Asia this summer. Here are what I think are the strengths and weaknesses for this product
Strengths:
1 Many non-chemical sunscreens actually fail to live up to their SPF but I do think it successfully protected my skin in the worst UV environment. (But I also used hats and such)
2 It is relatively safe for my skin. It didn't make my skin break out.
Weaknesses:
1 THE greasiest sunscreen I ever experienced. It's ok when you're out hiking or at the beach but when I went out to see friends they often commented on how much I was "sweating." When I really did sweat it made the cream turn white and visible (dotty on my face).
2 As it's noted on Skin Deep Cosmetic safety database it's not perfectly safe. While I didn't have any breakouts my face (not my body) got itchy wearing this. But I was able to get around it by putting on a moisturizer before applying this.
3 It's pretty tough to wash off. Though it's not waterproof after I washed my body I could still smell it and see it on my skin (showing up white especially in wrinkly area).
Despite the problems I think I might use it again next summer (at least on my body) because I haven't been able to find a better safe high SPF sunscreen. Other ones don't make my face shiny but make my face look all white.

Best Sunscreen Ever!I love this sunscreen. It is not greasy or smelly or full of crap that no one needs all over the largest organ of their bodies (their skin). I love it especially for my 11 month old daughter. It works wonderfully and I can feel secure knowing that her skin is not absorbiing a bunch of chemicals.
I put Water Babies on her once and she broke out into a head to toe rash. I felt terrible. With this sunscreen that has never happend!

Protects Mild Scent Mostly NaturalI picked a tube of this up for $10.99 at our local market after reading on cosmeticdatabase that it's one of the safest and most natural sunscreens on the market. It rated a 0 which is the safest rating.
It comes out of the tube thick and a little gritty as others have mentioned but I had no problem getting it to properly absorb into my skin. It takes an additional five or ten seconds to rub it in thoroughly which smooths out of the consistency and dramatically reduces the "white face" effect. I'm not sure what the big deal is with taking a few extra seconds to rub it in; other reviewers sound like they're in a mighty hurry to rush out into the sun :)
I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because I've only been using it for awhile. So far I like it a lot. The scent is mild (way more mild than most sunblocks I've used) and isn't medicinal at all on me it doesn't leave me with a white/pale face and so far it seems to provide excellent coverage. It does contain trace amounts of dimethicone which is explained on the Badger web site; this single additive is widely used and is considered safe. Overall this is probably one of the very best and safest sunblocks on the market.
Highly recommended especially for those looking to reduce the number of industrial chemicals they're applying to their skin.
